In an age when music is hastily produced and pumped out to the masses, Brandon Linkewich, known to the electronic music community as “White Light” uses his art to relay a sacred message to all listeners. Having faced numerous hardships as a child, Brandon took refuge in music. It enabled him to find his voice and filled him with a deep
sense of purpose.
At the age of 13, Brandon walked into a Future Shop in his hometown of Calgary and bought his first pair of DJ decks. Dance music’s universal appeal was a sound that captured his spirit. Soaking up the productions of EDM idols Tiësto, Deadmau5 and Laidback Luke, Brandon saw a glimpse of the path that was calling him to follow.
The name “White Light” revealed itself to Brandon when he was roaming the hallways of his middle school. From that moment, Brandon incorporated a white light into his DJ performances. Within the year, he created his platform, playing local shows, school dances and weddings. With each penny earned, Brandon would reinvest his money back
into his business, purchasing new gear and broadening his music education. By the time he was 16, Brandon was invited to play his very first festival in Alberta called TreeZen.“White Light” was officially formed.
Brandon worked fervently and passionately, pouring all of his energy into honing his art. He applied to the prestigious Icon Collective Music School in Los Angeles where he wasaccepted. Experimenting with the rise of viral video, Brandon produced several of his own videos, amassing millions of views and solidifying his online fan-base. His “White Light” brand became more and more refined, as he developed his white mask into a recognized trademark. During this time, he also launched his apparel line ‘WHT LHT Clothing’. These small, yet significant successes further drove his devotion towards music.
Upon graduating from Icon Collective Music School, Brandon dedicated the next 6 months strictly towards production and building relationships with labels. Today, Brandon is elated to see his years of hard work come to fruition, as his career begins to take shape. This July 2018, Brandon looks forward to the release of “Ghost ft. Avelyn” on
the US-based imprint Artist Intelligence Agency. The uplighting, pop-synth inspired track encompasses the positive message that Brandon hopes to relay to his listeners. That is: In darkness, there is always light. You just have to be brave enough to find it. And if you can’t find that light on your own, that is what I am here for.
